Game World and Lore

I really want to just paste all the story and lore and characters and content here and share it but I shouldn't give away any "Spoilers" so I´ll try to keep this super brief and I am leaving out the best bits, sorry!....

Foreword.
In the past during our many resets across many societies, traditional music and it´s culture was phased out of popularity by conquering forces and replaced with music designed to weaken culture, making people easier to manage. For example "classical music", did not use rhythmic dance beats. It generated a deep sense of main character syndrome, emotional instability and isolation.
The drums were kept for when they wanted to motivate and unify people, drive people to fight for their beliefs. The drums were used for the army and religious processions, but not for fun.

However, all over the world, folk music has survived, hardcore underground bards kept the vibe alive. They rocked secret underground bardcore barn parties. They searched out ancient lyrics and melodies, rare instruments and those artisans who kept the knowledge of how to make them. They met in secret with other trusted bards and shared their styles. Also they had to battle with fake bards that sung the songs of their oppressors, perverting their history and programming them for subjugation. Their greatest mission - to find an apprentice to pass on their sacred musical legacy through the generations. Some of them made it and today their music still lives on.
And now, a moments silence for those bards that never made it and all the songs that we have all lost....

Respect the bard.

Our artists are our culture, one day it will be our folk music. Today DJs are maybe not our bards but they do spread the music, maybe one day some or even all of our music might be censored and deemed problematic as part of some society reset. Maybe someone will need to find an apprentice and keep the fire burning through the darkness, so we know how to party when it´s all over.

The history bit is true, the future bit is up to us, I guess....


Ok, onto the totally fictional game world:

- The game is set in the near future

- The player is a member of an underground sound system

- They hold secret musical events and their pirate radio operations have become the voice of the wastelands

- The corporations isolate their controlled populations from human art

- The corporations hunt down talented artists to study and simulate

- The underground´s favourite DJ is captured

- They do things to him

- He is rescued by his crew, but he has been changed

- He has become the X-Fader, probably the world´s first DJ superhero

- His powers are not silly superhuman, they are real superbness of a human mind unleashed

- He did not start wearing tight sexy clothes, he stayed baggy

- Together with the other artists and members of the underground they strike back

- The cities are built along the megaways

- These huge multilevel highways carry all the city´s power and data

- The roads are electromagnetic full of light weight, mag lev, plastic, AI driven cars

- They dominate the roads with customised ancient analog muscle cars

- Together they hack the megaways and transmit to the population

- The corporations reveal their musical final solution

- The underground must stop the heinous plan before its too late and the population lose all ability to get down
